Ukrainian forces clear northwest of Kupyansk in Kharkiv Oblast despite Russian claims of full occupation
Analysts say Ukrainian troops blocked Russians in the city of Kupyansk in Kharkiv Oblast and cleared the entire northwestern outskirts of the city. Operations to fully eliminate the enemy continue, according to the latest report of DeepState monitoring project.
According to analysts, the Kupyansk clearance operation began with creating a blocking line and cutting off the Russian grouping in the city from main forces.
Ukrainian troops "relatively swiftly" took Radykivka and Kindrashivka, placed Holubivka under fire control, then cleared Myrne and the northwestern outskirts of Kupyansk itself.
At the same time, DeepState stressed that the operation continues, as Russians remain in enclaves in the city center, where they have been forced to withdraw.
Previously, the Russian military command has repeatedly stated that Kupyansk has been completely captured. Back in early December, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that, despite Russian statements, Ukrainian forces had almost completed clearing the city.
