Overnight on December 19, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian regions with 160 drones of various types. Ukraine’s defence forces destroyed 108 air targets, says the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces.
The Russians launched nearly 90 Shaheds, Gerberas and other types of drones from the following directions: Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Gvardeyskoye air base in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.
As of 8:00 a.m. local time, Ukraine’s air defence forces downed 108 drones in the south and east of the country. It’s reported that 47 attack drones hit 23 locations in Ukraine.
Consequences of the attack
According to Oleh Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, an energy infrastructure facility was damaged in Odesa as a result of another massive strike. The shock wave damaged the windows of a five-storey apartment building, injuring one person.
The enemy attack left the residents of one of Odesa's largest residential districts without electricity, water, and heat. Emergency workers are working on the site.
It’s also reported that Russia attacked Petropavlivka, Ukrainka, and Dubovykivka hromadas in the Dnipropetrovsk region with drones, damaging civilian buildings and infrastructure.
