Ukraine's Air Defense Forces shot down 60 of 116 Russian drones overnight

Russian forces attacked Ukrainian regions with 116 drones overnight on December 14. Ukraine managed to shoot down more than half of the air targets, say Ukraine’s Air Defence Forces.

Russia launched nearly 90 Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of drones from Millerovo, Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Gvardeyskoye air base in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Ukraine repelled the attack using aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.

As of 08:30 am local time, Ukraine’s Air Defense Forces shot down 60 UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country. It’s also reported that 48 strike UAVs hit 19 locations across the country.

Most of the Russian drones targeted critical infrastructure in the Chernihiv region. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service says that Russia hit several sites in Chernihiv, causing a fire. No casualties were reported.
