At least 7 people killed in Russian strikes on Druzhkivka market in Donbas
Russian forces killed seven people in Druzhkivka, Donetsk Oblast, on Wednesday by striking a crowded market with cluster munitions and dropping two aerial bombs, according to regional governor Vadym Filashkin.
The morning attack targeted the city’s market, a location known for heavy civilian foot traffic. Rescue and law enforcement services are working at the scene. Filashkin said the final casualty toll is still being determined.
"This is yet another deliberate war crime and further proof that all Russian statements about a 'ceasefire' are worthless," Filashkin stated.
In addition to the market hit, two aerial bombs damaged an industrial zone, three apartment buildings and three private homes.
Initial reports cited six dead and one wounded; by 2:25 p.m., the count rose to seven killed and eight injured, according to Filashkin.
