Russian overnight strikes kill three in Poltava and Zaporizhzhia
Russian forces launched a massive overnight attack on Ukraine using drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, killing two people in Poltava and one in Zaporizhzhia while injuring at least 16 others, regional military administrations reported.
In Poltava, explosions were heard around 3 a.m. The attack damaged residential buildings and a hotel, sparking fires, the Poltava Oblast Military Administration said. Two people were killed and 11 others wounded; all injured are receiving medical care.

View in Telegram.In Zaporizhzhia, drones and missiles struck a commercial site and caused widespread destruction, damaging or destroying apartment buildings, private homes and non-residential structures.
One person was killed and five were wounded, with the number of casualties still rising, according to the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration head.

View in Telegram.In Kharkiv’s Slobidskyi district, a Russian drone fell on open ground with no casualties or damage, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported.
Monitoring channels tracked Russian launches throughout the night. Because air threats were also detected over western Ukraine, Poland activated its air defense system, scrambling fighter jets, early-warning aircraft and ground-based defenses, according to Polish Armed Forces Operational Command.
