Ukrainian forces strike Russian radar stations and Tor-M1 system – General Staff

Ukrainian forces struck three Russian radar stations in occupied Crimea and Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, as well as a Tor-M1 surface-to-air missile system in occupied Luhansk Oblast, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

The targets included:

  • A Nebo-U radar station in Feodosia, in temporarily occupied Crimea;
  • An airspace control radar station near the town of Nikolaevka in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast;
  • A Kasta-2E radar station near the settlement of Lubyanoye-Pervoye in Belgorod Oblast.

Additionally, on April 13, Ukrainian troops hit a Tor-M1 air defense system near Lozove in temporarily occupied Luhansk Oblast.

According to Militarnyi, the Nebo-U radar is an upgraded system with a maximum detection range of 700 kilometers. It can detect fighter jets at a distance of up to 400 kilometers and an altitude of 20 kilometers.

The Security Service of Ukraine estimates the cost of such a station at approximately $100 million, according to public broadcaster Suspilne.
