Russian Banderol missile hits apartment building in Kharkiv, killing 2 and injuring over 30

Russian forces struck a five-story residential building in Kharkiv’s Nemyshlianskyi district on Wednesday morning, killing two people and injuring more than 30 others, regional governor Oleg Synegubov said.

The official said 34 people were known to have been injured, including boys ages 17, 16, and 3, as well as a 12-year-old girl. Part of the building’s fifth floor was destroyed, and two cars parked nearby were damaged.

Public broadcaster Suspilne reported from the scene that the two people killed in the strike were a man and a woman who were outside at the time. One of them was simply walking by, while the other was passing by in a car.

Spartak Borysenko, head of the Kharkiv Oblast prosecutor’s office department, said Russian forces used an S8000 Banderol munition in the strike. He described it as a hybrid between a kamikaze drone and a small cruise missile.
