Russia launches 4 missiles and more than 200 drones at Ukraine, leaving dead and injured
Russia attacked Ukraine overnight into Wednesday with one Iskander-M ballistic missile, three Kh-59/69 cruise missiles, and 216 strike drones, killing civilians and injuring others in several regions, according to the National Police and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Ukraine’s Air Force said Russian forces launched the ballistic missile and the three cruise missiles from occupied Crimea. Ukrainian air defenses shot down all three cruise missiles and 204 drones.
In Kyiv Oblast’s Bucha district, five people were injured after Russian forces hit a residential building. Among the wounded were three children.
Ukraine’s National Police said five private homes were damaged in the attack.
In Kherson’s Korabelnyi district, Russian forces killed a woman at about 4 a.m. when she suffered fatal injuries in a drone attack.
Overnight and into the morning, Russian troops also attacked two men with drones in Kherson’s Tsentralnyi district. A 42-year-old resident suffered shrapnel wounds to the head, concussion, blast injuries and a closed head injury. A 30-year-old resident sustained concussion, blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to the legs.
In Odesa Oblast, a drone struck a two-story apartment building in one settlement, killing a woman. In another building, the roof collapsed after the strike.
The attack also damaged a tobacco storage warehouse and a main gas pipeline, causing its depressurization.
