Russian bomb attack on Slovyansk kills 5, damages Latvian consulate office
Russian forces struck the city of Slovyansk in Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast with guided aerial bombs this morning, killing five people and injuring nine others, according to regional governor Vadym Filashkin.
The attack damaged 10 private homes, an enterprise and the building of the honorary consulate of Latvia.
According to preliminary information, five people were killed and nine were injured. Local authorities are urging residents to evacuate.
“Russians attack our cities every day — and for the second day in a row their attacks have led to numerous casualties in Slovyansk,” Filashkin said.
A day earlier, Russian forces also dropped two aerial bombs on Slovyansk, injuring 10 people between the ages of 36 and 82.
