Russian strikes damage postal terminal, border crossing in Odesa Oblast
Russian forces struck civilian and logistics infrastructure in Ukraine's southern Odesa Oblast overnight and during the day on September 1, damaging a postal terminal and a ferry border crossing with Romania, regional authorities said.
During an overnight drone attack, two residential buildings were damaged and a fire broke out at a sewing workshop, according to Odesa Oblast Governor Oleh Kiper.
Russian drones also struck the Orlivka ferry border crossing on the Ukrainian-Romanian border overnight, causing fires, Ukraine's State Border Guard Service said.
Later in the day, another Russian attack caused a fire at a postal terminal that had previously been damaged in strikes, Kiper said. Photos published by regional authorities show the facility bearing the distinctive branding of Ukrainian delivery company Nova Poshta.
Emergency crews extinguished the fire. No casualties were reported.
