Russian missile and drone attack damages Odesa thermal power plant

Russian forces struck a thermal power plant in Odesa with missiles and drones on the evening of August 31, damaging equipment at the facility, Ukrainian energy company Naftogaz said.

The attack damaged parts of the plant's main and auxiliary equipment, according to the company.

Crews are currently clearing debris at the site. A full assessment of the plant's condition and the extent of the damage will be conducted afterward, Naftogaz said.

No casualties were reported following the attacks on infrastructure in Odesa, according to the city's military administration.

The strike came amid a broader Russian attack on Odesa Oblast. Ukrainian forces also reported that Russia used a Kh-31P anti-radiation missile against the region during the past day.
