Russian strikes injure at least 11 in Odesa and Kyiv oblast, damage homes and schools
Russian overnight strikes on Odesa and Kyiv oblast injured at least 11 people, including a child, and damaged residential buildings, schools and other civilian infrastructure, local authorities reported on Sept. 2.
Eight people were injured in Odesa, according to city authorities. Two were hospitalized.
A 24-story residential building was damaged, with apartments destroyed on several floors. Windows were shattered in nearby buildings, while cars, office buildings and two educational institutions were also damaged.
Power crews were working to restore electricity following the attack.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported overnight that Russian Banderol loitering munitions were heading toward Odesa and the surrounding region.
In Kyiv oblast, Russian strikes destroyed two townhouses in Vyshneve late on Sept. 1, causing a fire.
Two people, including a child, were injured in the Bucha district, Kyiv Oblast Governor Tymur Tkachenko said.
Three warehouses in the district were also struck. Russian forces attacked the warehouses again after emergency crews had arrived at the scene.
A private house was damaged in the Brovary district, where one person was injured.
