Ukraine says it hit S-400 radar in Sochi and Russian drone launch sites
Ukraine's military says it struck a key radar belonging to a Russian S-400 air defense system in Sochi, as well as several sites used to store, prepare and launch attack drones.
The strikes were carried out on Sept. 13 and overnight into Sept. 14, Ukraine's General Staff said.
According to the military, Ukrainian forces hit a 92N6 multifunction radar in Sochi, in Russia's Krasnodar region. The radar is used to track aerial targets and guide surface-to-air missiles and is a key component of the S-400 system.
Ukrainian forces also struck sites used to store, prepare and launch attack drones near Kursk in Russia and Russian-occupied Donetsk, as well as a drone command post in occupied Novohrodivka, the General Staff said.
The military reported additional strikes on three Russian radar stations and three communications relay sites in Bryansk region, as well as a short-range navigation system near the Saky airfield in Russian-occupied Crimea.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed, according to the General Staff.
