Finland announces €290 million military aid package for Ukraine ahead of winter
Finland has approved a new €290 million ($XX million) military aid package for Ukraine, including equipment urgently requested by Kyiv as the country prepares for winter, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said on Sept. 15.
The package is Finland’s 34th shipment of defense materiel to Ukraine and the second-largest since Russia launched its full-scale invasion, according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
“Ukraine is preparing for the coming winter and needs all the support we can give,” Stubb said.
“We support Ukraine because it is morally right to do so, and because this is about the security of all of Europe — and therefore about the security of Finland as well,” he added.
Finland has provided Ukraine with €3.6 billion worth of military equipment and materiel since the start of the full-scale war, Sybiha said.
