Russia launches 93 aerial weapons at Ukraine, killing 2 and injuring at least 10

Ukraine's Air Force said the attack included Shahed, Gerbera and decoy drones, as well as Banderol/Dan-T systems. Forty-six of the Shahed drones were jet-powered.

As of 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 69 Shahed, Gerbera and other drones, as well as three Banderol/Dan-T systems. Strikes were recorded at 13 locations, while debris from intercepted weapons fell at three others.

The Air Force said the attack was still ongoing at the time of its update and that the figures were preliminary.

Two killed in Zhytomyr Oblast

Two people were killed and two others injured in Russian strikes on Zhytomyr Oblast, according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service.

Fires broke out at warehouse and industrial buildings in the Korosten district and were later extinguished.

Family injured in Kyiv Oblast

Five members of a family, including three children, were injured in the Fastiv district of Kyiv Oblast.

A private house was destroyed, while another home and a car were damaged. The three children and their father were hospitalized.

Schools, medical facilities damaged in Konotop

Russian drones also struck Konotop in the northeastern Sumy Oblast overnight, injuring two women.

The attack damaged educational and medical facilities, railway and municipal transport infrastructure, private homes and shops, according to Mayor Artem Semenikhin. Part of the city was left without gas after the gas network was damaged.

Shopping complex destroyed in Zaporizhzhia

A Russian drone attack late on Sept. 17 destroyed a shopping complex in Zaporizhzhia and injured one person.

The strike sparked a fire covering more than 10,000 square meters (about 108,000 square feet), which emergency crews extinguished.

Russian forces also attacked Odesa overnight and in the morning, damaging an unused two-story building and causing a fire. No injuries were reported.
