Russian airstrike destroys nine-story apartment entrance in Kramatorsk, injures four

A Russian airstrike on Kramatorsk in Ukraine's Donetsk Oblast destroyed an entire section of a nine-story apartment building on October 14, injuring four people, Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES) reported.

Six apartment buildings were damaged in the attack. In one of them, an entire entrance section collapsed from the first through the ninth floor.

During search-and-rescue operations, emergency workers recovered human remains from the rubble and handed them over to police for identification. Authorities have not yet confirmed the number of people killed.

Rescue workers and municipal crews have removed approximately 300 metric tons of debris. Operations are continuing as security conditions allow.

The strikes also caused fires at a store and in a residential neighborhood, where four private houses and garages caught fire. Firefighters extinguished the blazes, which covered a combined area of 540 square meters.

Kramatorsk, a major city in Ukrainian-controlled Donetsk Oblast, has repeatedly come under Russian attack.
