Kyiv medical center suspends operations after Russian missile attack shatters over 200 windows

A medical center in Kyiv's Solomianskyi district has suspended operations after a Russian overnight missile attack shattered more than 200 windows and damaged medical equipment, city health officials said on October 19.
The blast wave severely damaged the consultation and diagnostic center of Kyiv Hospital No. 6, including its doors, ceilings and medical equipment.
"The damage to the premises is almost total," said Tetiana Mostepan, head of the Kyiv City State Administration's Health Department.
No staff members were injured, and no patients were inside the center at the time of the attack.
Medical personnel have been reassigned to other facilities so they can continue providing care, Mostepan said.
According to the Ukrainian medical appointment platform Helsi, all appointments scheduled for this week at the center on Vadym Hetman Street have been canceled. Patients have been advised to seek care at Consultation and Diagnostic Center No. 2 on Politekhnichna Street instead.
The damage occurred during a Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv overnight on October 19 that affected at least three districts of the capital.
In Solomianskyi district, a residential building and shopping center were also damaged. In Dniprovskyi district, a nonresidential building and an educational facility were hit.
The attack also damaged metro infrastructure in Desnianskyi district, forcing the temporary closure of the Chernihivska and Lisova stations after debris damaged running and power rails near one of the stations.
Separately, Ukrainian telecommunications company Datagroup reported that equipment at one of its Kyiv data centers had been destroyed beyond repair in the attack.
