Russian strikes on Donetsk Oblast kill one, injure 10, including 13-year-old girl
Russian forces launched four strikes on Yasnohirka, a settlement in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk Oblast, on the morning of October 26, killing at least one person and injuring 10 others, including a 13-year-old girl, regional governor Vadym Filashkin said.
Yasnohirka is part of the Kramatorsk community, where Ukrainian authorities have ordered the mandatory evacuation of families with children because of the danger from Russian attacks.
Emergency services were working at the strike sites, and the injured were receiving medical assistance, Filashkin said.
The authorities were still assessing the full number of casualties and the extent of the damage.
Filashkin urged parents to comply with evacuation orders, warning that children should not remain so close to the front line.
"Evacuation is difficult, but necessary," he said.
According to the governor, Russian forces attacked Donetsk Oblast 29 times over the previous day.
Ukrainian authorities also evacuated 253 people from frontline areas during that period, including 25 children.
The type of weapons used in the October 26 strikes on Yasnohirka was not immediately specified.
