Finland's president tells public to prepare for possible sabotage and drone incidents
Finnish President Alexander Stubb has urged people in Finland to be mentally prepared for possible acts of sabotage and incidents involving drones entering the country.
Four drones have fallen in Finland since the beginning of the year, Stubb said in an interview with MTV cited by Finnish public broadcaster Yle.
He described Europe as facing two forms of conflict: the conventional war Russia is waging against Ukraine and what he called Russia’s hybrid warfare against Europe.
Stubb stressed that there was no reason to panic, saying Finland’s Defense Forces and other authorities had strengthened measures to counter hybrid threats and drone incidents.
He also urged people to remain calm, approach alarming reports critically and avoid reacting to every warning signal.
