First Coronavirus Recovery Reported in Ukraine

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“We have very good news. The patient from Chernivtsi was re-tested for coronavirus. And for the second time, he showed a negative result, and therefore I can now state officially — he is the first person in Ukraine to recover from the coronavirus. Today he will be discharged from the hospital and will return home,” Zelenskyy said in a video message posted on Facebook.

According to the latest data, 224 517 cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection, 10,030 deaths and 86,025 cases of successful recovery from infection have been officially reported worldwide.

Currently, 26 cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection have been officially confirmed in Ukraine: in Chernivtsi (15), Zhytomyr (2), Kyiv (2), Donetsk (1), Dnipro (2), Ivano-Frankivsk (1) regions and in Kyiv city (3). Three of them were fatal — a 71-year-old woman died in Zhytomyr region, a 56-year-old woman in Ivano-Frankivsk and a 33-year-old woman in Chernivtsi.
