A search and rescue operation has been completed in Uman, where a Russian missile hit a high-rise building on April 28.

The Russian strike killed 23 people: 22 were extracted from the rubble, and one person died in the hospital. Among the dead were six children: three boys (one and a half, 16 and 17 years old) and three girls (8, 11 and 14 years old).

The UK Ministry of Defense, citing its own intelligence, suggested that Russia's missile strikes on Ukraine on April 28 were intended to intercept military supplies that had recently arrived in Ukraine.

Fire in Sevastopol

A large-scale fire broke out at an oil depot in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol.

The occupying head of the region, Mikhail Razvozhayev, said that the fire was caused by a "UAV strike"

Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said that the explosion in Sevastopol on April 29 destroyed more than 10 tanks with oil products. Their total capacity is about 40,000 tons. These oil products were intended for the needs of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

Situation at the frontline

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine says that over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled more than 40 occupiers' attacks on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Maryinka axes.

The fiercest fighting is taking place for Bakhmut and Maryinka, where Ukrainian troops continue to hold the line.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the second part of the war has already begun, in which Ukraine is going to take the initiative.

"Every day they will weaken, and we will have more and more chances. They have already changed their tactics. They are already thinking about the defense of the territories they occupy. This is another wave of this war," the president said.

Ukraine's protest

On April 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent a note to the Polish Embassy and the EU Delegation regarding the "categorical unacceptability" of the situation around restrictions on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products.

The ministry believes that such restrictions do not comply with the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and the principles and norms of the EU Single Market.

Russian judokas

The International Judo Federation has decided to allow Russians and Belarusians to participate in competitions under a neutral flag.

Suspilne Sport notes that at least seven judokas who are officers of the Russian army have been registered for the 2023 World Championships. Earlier, the International Olympic Committee recommended not to allow athletes who have contracts with the Russian or Belarusian army.

Checking the work of the enlistment offices

Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar and Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Tetiana Ostashchenko inspected the work of military medical commissions in the combat areas.

The deputy minister noted that she had talked to the military who are currently undergoing the medical examination, including those who are standing in line.

According to her, the situation with the commissions in the combat areas is different: in some places there are queues and complaints from the military, while in other places there are no such complaints.
