Russia attacks Kyiv with 10 missiles. More than 50 people injured. What is known?
Overnight, the Russian occupation forces attacked Kyiv with ten ballistic missiles. Air defense forces destroyed all air targets. At the same time, missile fragments fell in a number of districts of the capital, reported, in particular, the press service of the Kyiv City Military Administration, the press service of the Air Force, and Mayor Vitali Klitschko in a number of posts.
It was the second high-speed missile strike on Kyiv in the last two days, recalled governor Serhiy Popko. Preliminary data indicates that, as on December 11, the enemy used ballistic weapons, launching the missiles at about 3 a.m.
The Air Force later said that Ukrainian soldiers from an anti-aircraft unit destroyed all ten air targets flying in the direction of Kyiv on a ballistic trajectory. The type of missiles will be determined after examining the wreckage.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians fired S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles and Iskander ballistic missiles at Kyiv.
What are the consequences of the attack?
As a result of the night attack, 53 people were injured: 20 of them, including children, were hospitalized. Medics treated 33 victims on the spot (including 6 children). No one was killed.
Most of the victims were in Dniprovskyi district - 45 people. Most of them were diagnosed with injuries related to cuts from glass as a result of windows smashed by the blast wave.
In the Holosiyivskyi district, debris fell on the roadway, but there was no fire.
At the same time, in the Darnytskyi district, a private house caught fire spanning an area of 400 square meters.
In the Desnianskyi district, there was a fire on the 7th floor of a nine-story residential building and eight cars in the yard.
Residents were evacuated. 17 people were rescued, including seven children. Representatives of the Red Cross are working at the scene. A Kyivpastrans company bus was used to warm people up. The psychological service is providing assistance to people, and doctors are helping the injured.
At two other locations in the district, fragments of burning missiles were found in the open area.
In the Dniprovskyi district, the blast wave smashed windows in two residential buildings. A private residential building caught fire over an area of two square meters.
In the same area, missile fragments fell on three more private residential buildings without igniting. There was partial destruction of the houses and ancillary structures.
The missile fragments also fell on the roadway. There is damage to the water supply network. Emergency crews are working on the spot.
During the night attack on the capital, according to preliminary data, a missile fell on the property of one of the capital's hospitals. Windows in several buildings of the institution were blown out. One person was injured. The police arrived at the scene. Law enforcement officers are currently inspecting the crater on the premises of the medical facility.
