"We're at turning point in war with Russia" – Ukraine's intel chief

The turning point in the war has already begun as Russian citizens start appreciating that the war concerns them directly, and is not happening somewhere away from them, said the head of the Main Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Kyrylo Budanov, on the air of the national telethon.

According to him, it has dawned on Russians that their army is not that strong, the air defense systems are not that good, and that the Russian army is actually not capable of protecting the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory.

"This is not at all the second army of the world, and not even the fourth. And the reckoning will come... The turning point has already begun," he stressed.

Budanov added that the understanding that retribution is due comes to people when they personally begin to see and feel that the war is not somewhere in some part of the world, but in their territory.

How will the war end?

On Independence Day on August 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the war against Russia will end only with the victory of Ukraine, without any compromises.

The head of state said that Ukrainians will raise their hands only once – to celebrate the victory throughout Ukraine. And the whole of Ukraine is 25 regions, he clarified.
