"Worst war scenario" behind Ukraine, now on the verge of "new stage", says Defense Minister Reznikov

Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov stated in response to a question during an interview with CNN whether the Russo-Ukrainian war was drifting into a stalemate that the "worst scenario" of the war is behind.

"We are in a stage of stabilizing all the battlefield or battle lines with the small moving of the units, and we made a lot of good deterrents there," the official said.

He believes that Ukraine is on the threshold of a "new stage" of the war, having started its counteroffensive campaign in a different direction.

Reznikov called the "fatigue syndrome" among the international community one of the main threats in Ukraine's fight against Russian aggression.

The situation at the front

The General Staff reported on the evening of August 23, that the occupation forces tried to advance to several settlements on the Avdiyivka and Bakhmut axes, but in the end they did not succeed and withdrew.

The occupiers continue to focus on establishing full control over the territory of Donetsk Oblast, maintaining the captured districts of Kherson, part of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv oblasts, as well as restoring the combat capability of units that have suffered losses.
