Prosecutor General's Office prosecutors exposed for taking $170,000 in bribes for closing a case — NABU
Prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office were exposed for receiving a bribe of $170,000 for making a decision to close criminal proceedings, reported the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Currently, one of the prosecutors has been detained. He was indicted under Прийняття пропозиції, обіцянки або одержання неправомірної вигоди службовою особою в особливо великому розмірі, вчинене службовою особою, яка займає особливо відповідальне становищеPart 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to this article, he faces from 8 to 12 years behind bars with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years and with confiscation of property.
The matter of charging other crime participants is being addressed.
