Ukraine's SBU raids National Police headquarters across several oblasts; five officers reportedly detained

Searches were underway on Wednesday at the main headquarters of the National Police in several Ukrainian oblasts, the National Police confirmed in a comment to Interfax-Ukraine.

Defense Ministry adviser Serhiy Sternenko reported that the searches targeted regional headquarters in western Ukraine — specifically the Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil oblasts — as well as Zhytomyr Oblast.

The searches are being conducted by officers of Ukraine's Security Service.

MP Oleksii Goncharenko said five law enforcement officers had been detained on suspicion of receiving bribes. Law enforcement agencies had not officially confirmed the detentions as of publication.
