Kyiv builds food, water reserves for prolonged power outages this winter
Kyiv authorities are building reserves of food and drinking water in preparation for possible prolonged power outages and other emergencies during the fall and winter, the Kyiv City State Administration said.
The supplies are intended primarily for low-income residents and people in difficult circumstances and could also be distributed through the city's resilience centers.
With support from nonprofit organizations, the city plans to provide hot meals for up to 25,000 people and purchase another 20,000 food packages.
City authorities said they are maintaining reserves of essential food products and preparing a system to distribute supplies if needed.
