Ukrainian Defense Forces down Russian helicopter with FPV drone for the first time in history
The officers of the Special Operations Center "A" of the SBU Security Service were able to strike a Russian Mi-28 helicopter with a long FPV drone right in the air, reported activist and volunteer Serhiy Sternenko. This was also confirmed by a hromadske source in the SBU.
Our source noted that this was a "unique hit on an enemy target" and "a unique operation in the history of wars."
As the source confirms, the Russian helicopter was hit over Kursk Oblast on August 6.
In the widely circulated video, it can be seen that the SBU drone hits the rear propeller of the Russian vehicle directly.

What is happening in Kursk Oblast?
On the morning of August 6, Russia reported an alleged attempt by Ukrainian troops to break through the border of the Kursk Oblast. Fighting is still ongoing, and local authorities call the situation "tense."
Neither the Ministry of Defense of Russia nor the local authorities reported on the alleged advance of Ukrainian forces in the region. Meanwhile, Russian "milbloggers" claim that as of August 7, the settlements of Nikolayevo-Daryino, Daryino and Sverdlikovo in the Sudzha district of Kursk Oblast have already been occupied.
The regional governor announced that all emergency services have been transferred to an enhanced mode of operation. In the border regions of the region, medical institutions replenish the supply of donor blood. Meanwhile, in Kursk online groups and channels, the number of posts with a request to find and help take out relatives from settlements, who, according to locals, have not been contacted is increasing.
