Kyiv attacked with cruise and ballistic missiles: casualties and fires in several districts
Overnight, Russian troops launched an airstrike on Kyiv. As a result, people have been injured, and in several areas there is damage to infrastructure and fires, announced the Kyiv City Military Administration and the mayor of the city Vitali Klitschko.
For the combined attack, Russia used cruise missiles - probably X-101, which were launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers in Saratov Oblast.
When these missiles were approaching the city, the Russians also fired KN-24/Iskander-M ballistic missiles and an attack UAV over Kyiv and its suburbs. The Kyiv authorities say that air defense destroyed more than a dozen cruise missiles, about a dozen ballistic missiles and an attack drone.
What are the consequences of the attack?
According to Klitschko, due to the air attack, two adults turned to medics for help, one of whom was hospitalized.
As a result of falling debris, four cars were on fire in the Svyatoshynskyi district, but the fire has now been extinguished. There was also a fire in a two-story non-residential building and damaged the kiosks near the Svyatoshyn metro station, as well as the windows of the metro station building. However, the station is now working, says the mayor.
In the Holosiyivskyi district of the city, the building of a boiler house was damaged - the State Emergency Service clarified that it was the boiler house of one of the educational institutions, the fire was extinguished. Meanwhile, a fire broke out on the territory of one of the enterprises in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The Kyiv City Military Administration also reported falling debris in the Dniprovskyi district.
