Army chief Syrskyi denies Putin's claims about encirclement of Ukrainian troops in Kursk Oblast
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, denied Russia's statement that allegedly Ukrainian military personnel are surrounded in Kursk Oblast, according to his social media post.
Syrskyi called it "outright misinformation that does not reflect the real situation."
According to him, the Ukrainian troops continue active operations on the Kursk axis and, despite the intense pressure of the enemy, inflict significant losses on the Russians in terms of personnel and military equipment.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from August 8 to the present, Russian troops have lost 17,819 soldiers on this part of the front (6,662 killed, 10,446 wounded, and 711 were captured).
Losses of Russian troops in weapons and military equipment are:
- 45 tanks;
- 256 combat armored vehicles;
- 565 units of automotive equipment;
- 99 artillery systems;
- 5 rocket salvo systems.
"I thank the Ukrainian soldiers for the stability, endurance and true courage that you demonstrate to our primordial insidious enemy in all sections and directions of the front!" wrote Syrskyi.
