Ukrainian Defense Forces confirm hit on Lukoil refinery in Russia's Volgograd Oblast
The Ukrainian military confirmed that overnight on January 30, they struck Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka LLC in Russia’s Volgograd Oblast, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The strike was carried out by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' unmanned systems and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with other parts of the Defense Forces.
The targeted refinery is among the 10 largest in Russia by design capacity and is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army, the General Staff said.
Fires and explosions were reported in the area of the plant, and the results of the strike are being clarified.

The Volgograd Oblast authorities said that air defense systems were activated in the region. The falling debris from one of the drones caused a fire at the oil refinery, which has since been extinguished. One refinery worker was injured and hospitalized, the governor said.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that it shot down 49 drones in total, with the majority, 25 drones, being shot down over Rostov Oblast.
