Russians share video of yet another execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war — commissioner

A video of the alleged execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian soldiers is spreading on social media, as reported by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets.

"Another cynical crime. Russian military channels publish a video of the alleged execution of Ukrainian soldiers who were captured. In the video, Russian soldiers can be heard repeatedly being ordered to shoot prisoners of war. This emphasizes that executions are a conscious policy of Russia," the ombudsman wrote.

He stressed that such actions violate international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Lubinets sent letters to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross: "Organizations should put pressure on the Russian side so that the Russian Federation feels the consequences of such actions and does not commit them in the future."

So far, Ukrainian law enforcement officials have not commented on the information about the alleged execution of captured Ukrainians.

If you witnessed or have any information regarding this crime against Ukrainian soldiers, Lubinets urges you to immediately report it to the Ombudsman's hotline at 0800 50 17 20.

"Every testimony is important for establishing the truth. The information provided will contribute to documenting war crimes, ensuring legal response, and bringing perpetrators to justice in accordance with international and national law," he stressed.
