Russian infantry groups trying to storm border line in Sumy Oblast. No breakthrough reported – NSDC
Russian troops are attempting assault operations along the border near the village of Novenke, Sumy Oblast. These are infantry groups without equipment, as stated by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko.
"Regarding the situation in Sumy Oblast, near Novenke, as reported in the media. Currently, the Russians are attempting to storm the border without columns of equipment, in infantry groups. The Defense Forces are destroying the enemy. At this moment, there has been no breakthrough, the fighting continues," he wrote.
Before that, the village of Novenke was marked as a gray zone on the map of the DeepState monitoring resource.
The Russian Telegram channel Mash wrote that “Russian Armed Forces fighters have less than 11 km left before the complete encirclement of Sudzha.” It is alleged that Russian troops are trying to take control of the so-called lifeline — the only paved road between Ukrainian Yunakivka and Russian Sudzha — in order to complicate the supply and logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This was confirmed by Kovalenko: "The Russians' plan is predictable and understandable - to try to get behind the highway that runs from Yunakivka to Sudzha and try to influence the logistics of the Defense Forces. But this plan is known, the Defense Forces are taking measures to disrupt it."
