Russian drone and missile strikes kill at least 14 in Kyiv, hit apartment blocks

Russian forces launched a massive drone and missile attack on Kyiv overnight into Tuesday, killing at least 14 people, injuring 55, and damaging residential buildings across multiple districts, Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko reported.

The assault began late on Monday with drones, followed by various missiles, causing explosions in Solomyanskyi, Darnytskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts.

In Solomyanskyi, two residential buildings were damaged, with fires breaking out; 18 people were injured, six hospitalized.

Another building was destroyed in the attack after it was probably hit by a ballistic missile. There may be people under the rubble. According to preliminary data, 14 people were killed in the strikes in the capital.

A fire erupted on the upper floors of a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, and a National Aviation University dormitory was hit.

As of 8:03 a.m., Klitschko reported 55 injured, with over 40 hospitalized.

The Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi, Solomyanskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts were also under enemy fire.

8:48 a.m. According to Kyiv governor Tymur Tkachenko, the Russians attacked Kyiv with 175 drones, more than 14 cruise missiles, and at least two ballistic missiles.

"The nature of the damage is a direct hit on a residential building. Missiles - from the upper floors to the basement. We are dealing with a vile enemy," he wrote.
