Ukrainian air defenses down 236 Russian aerial targets during overnight assault
Overnight, Russian troops launched an assault on Ukrainian regions using 10 missiles and 270 drones of various types, according to the Ukrainian Air Force Command.
The Russian attack involved:
- 270 Shahed strike drones and decoy drones launched from Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
- 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from Russia’s Rostov and Voronezh oblasts and temporarily occupied Crimea;
- 5 Kh-101 cruise missiles from strategic aviation aircraft over the Caspian Sea.
The air assault was countered by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) teams, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.
Preliminary data as of 9:00 a.m. indicates that air defenses downed or suppressed 236 targets:
- 230 Shahed drones and decoy drones;
- 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles;
- 4 Kh-101 cruise missiles.
However, 4 missiles and 40 drones struck 16 locations, with debris from downed targets damaging 3 additional sites.
The Kremenchuk and Lubny districts in Poltava Oblast were hit, damaging administrative buildings of local energy sector enterprises and leaving residents without power.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, one man was injured, and residential buildings, cars, and an educational institution building were damaged, with the latter catching fire.
