Russian troops enter two Dnipropetrovsk Oblast villages. General Staff denies occupation

Russian forces have entered the villages of Zaporizke and Novoheorhiyivka in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Dnipro Operational-Strategic Troop Grouping, confirmed to hromadske on Tuesday.

“Yes, the Russians have entered and are trying to establish positions. Our forces are fighting to hold their ground,” Trehubov said.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed that these settlements are not occupied. The Defense Forces have already stopped the advance of the occupiers in Zaporizke and continue to control the village "despite all the efforts of the enemy, who is trying to capture this settlement."

Active combat operations continue in the area of the village of Novoheorhiyivka. The Ukrainian military "is inflicting significant losses on the enemy, destroying dozens of occupiers every day," the General Staff added.

The monitoring project DeepState was the first to report the Russian advance into these settlements. Trehubov believes that with such publications, it is worth waiting "at least a day or two."

"The situation is changing quite rapidly, and the enemy has a nasty habit of responding to scandals in our information space by increasing pressure," he said.

According to analysts, Russian forces have been active along a “fairly large” section of the administrative border between Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, from the Dachne area to Temyrivka, exerting constant pressure.

Analysts noted that the enemy rarely uses vehicles, relying instead on infantry assaults supported by drones and other fire support means, often employing “flag-planting” tactics to mark territorial gains.

“It should be noted that the enemy practically does not use equipment, but carries out assault operations with infantry supported by drones and other means of fire support. They often resort to the tactic of "flag-waving" [...] The enemy has been conducting combat operations along Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and now on its territory for some time. Active fighting has been ongoing near Maliyivka for weeks, where the enemy is infiltrating deeper, attempting to consolidate as far as Vorone, with fighters from the 225th Separate Assault Battalion conducting clearing operations. Now, two more settlements have been added to these developments,” DeepState reported.

According to analysts, Russian forces are advancing on Zaporizke and Novoheorhiivka from Zelenyi Pol and Temyrivka. Ukrainian Defense Forces are making every effort to hold back the enemy, stabilize the situation, and prevent further Russian advances.
