Explosions rock oil facilities in Leningrad, Smolensk oblasts during massive drone assault
A series of Russian regions came under attack by more than 200 drones overnight into Friday, including a port in Leningrad Oblast, local officials and Telegram channels reported.
Russia's Defense Ministry claimed its air defenses intercepted 221 drones in total. The most — 85 drones — were downed over Bryansk Oblast. Another 42 were over Smolensk Oblast, 28 over Leningrad Oblast, 18 over Kaluga Oblast, 14 over Novgorod Oblast and 9 over Moscow Oblast. The rest were shot down over Oryol, Belgorod, Rostov, Tver, Pskov, Tula and Kursk oblasts.
Leningrad Oblast Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko reported that drones targeted Russia's largest oil port in Primorsk. One ship there caught fire, but authorities said the blaze had been extinguished.
A pumping station in Primorsk also caught fire, but officials claimed it had been put out.
Drone debris fell in Vsevolozhsk, Tosno, the villages of Pokrovskoye and Uzmino, as well as outside populated areas in Lomonosovsky district. No casualties were reported.

View in Telegram.Smolensk Oblast authorities also reported the drone attack. The OSINT project CyberBoroshno claims a Lukoil-Centernefteprodukt oil depot in Kardymovo was hit in the region, with at least two strikes.
In videos filmed by locals, they can be heard mentioning an attack on Lukoil.
