Explosion hits key Russian oil pipeline in Saratov Oblast
Overnight, an explosion knocked out the Kuibyshev-Lysychansk main oil pipeline in Russia's Saratov Oblast, an informed source in Ukraine's Defense Intelligence told hromadske.
The Kuibyshev-Lysychansk main oil pipeline supplied petroleum products to the Russian army. According to the source, the affected facility has a capacity of up to 82 million tons per year.
In the morning after the explosions, workers were observed gathering at the site to address the aftermath of the attack.
At the same time, Russian media explained the series of explosions in Saratov Oblast as "planned exercises."
The Main Intelligence Directorate noted that this is the third oil and gas infrastructure facility in Russia knocked out in just the past day.
Earlier reports mentioned explosions at gas and oil pipelines in Russia's Penza Oblast.
