Russian drones hit Podil in central Kyiv, injuring 7 and damaging synagogue
Russian forces attacked Kyiv with drones late on Wednesday, injuring seven people and damaging a kindergarten, homes and a synagogue in the Podilskyi district, city officials and Ukraine's chief rabbi said.
The strikes hit five locations in the Podil microdistrict, including a kindergarten and five vehicles, Kyiv Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko said.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko said drone debris fell on a residential building's roof in the same district.
Ukraine's chief rabbi, Moshe Reuven Azman, said a Russian drone struck a synagogue in Podil.
Tkachenko said homes were also damaged in the Desnianskyi and Obolonskyi districts.
The attack follows a similar drone strike on Kyiv overnight into Tuesday that hit high-rises in the Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts, killing a married couple and injuring 30 people, including five children. Nine of the wounded were hospitalized.
