Russia hits Ukraine with ballistic missile, 138 drones

Russian forces launched one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 138 drones at Ukrainian regions overnight into Thursday, with air defenses neutralizing 102 drones but recording hits at 10 sites that damaged power equipment in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts and injured six people in Mykolaiv, Ukraine's Air Force reported.

The aggressor launched strike drones of the Shahed type, Gerberas and drones of other types from Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as Chornomorske and Hvardiyske in temporarily occupied Crimea. About 90 of the launched drones were Shaheds.

The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.

Preliminary data as of 10:30 a.m. shows air defenses shot down or suppressed 102 drones in the north, east and south of the country. Hits from 36 strike drones were recorded at 10 locations.

Consequences of the attack

Ukrenergo reported that Russian attacks on energy infrastructure damaged equipment and left consumers without power in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. Additionally, facilities in Odesa Oblast were targeted.

Odesa Oblast also saw damage to a transport infrastructure site, regional governor Oleh Kiper reported. The explosion destroyed the roof of a railway repair workshop and caused a fire.

In Mykolaiv, six residents were injured in a drone strike, three in serious condition, the regional governor said.
