Ukrainian drones hit a seaport and the world's largest gas chemical complex in Russia’s Orenburg

On the night of December 25, long-range drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) hit oil storage tanks in the port of Temryuk in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, and the world's largest gas chemical complex, the Orenburg gas processing plant, told hromadske an informed source in the SBU.

The first target of the long-range drones operated by the SBU's Alpha Special Operations Center was the seaport of Temryuk in Krasnodar Krai. As a result of the attack, two oil storage tanks caught fire, covering an area of nearly 2,000 square meters.

The Orenburg gas processing plant, the world's largest gas chemical complex, was also attacked by drones. It processes 37.5 billion m³ of gas per year.

The drone attack caused a fire on the gas pipeline of the 3U-70 unit, which purifies raw gas from hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide. The technological process at the plant was suspended. The FIRMS service, which tracks fires in real time around the world, recorded the fires at the complex.

“The SBU continues to carry out systematic strikes on the facilities of the Russian oil and gas sector. Each attack hits the Russian budget, reduces foreign exchange earnings, and complicates logistics and fuel supplies for the army,” a source in the Security Service added.
