Ukrainian air defenses down 52 drones, 1 missile in Russian overnight attack

Russian troops attacked Ukrainian regions overnight into Tuesday with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 60 drones. Defense Forces neutralized one missile and 52 drones, according to Ukraine's Air Force.

The military detected 62 air targets launched by Russians:

  • 60 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera types; other-type drones flew from directions of Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as Chauda and Hvardiyske in temporarily occupied Crimea (about 40 of them Shaheds);
  • 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from temporarily occupied Crimea and Russia's Voronezh Oblast.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems subunits, mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

Preliminary data as of 9 a.m. show air defenses downed/suppressed one ballistic missile and 52 UAVs in the north, south and east of the country.

A ballistic missile hit and eight strike drones were recorded at five locations. In particular, Russian troops struck the city of Zaporizhzhia in the morning. An industrial infrastructure site was damaged; a woman was injured.
