Ukrainian troops strike Donetsk airport, where Russians stored and prepared Shahed drones for launch
Overnight into Tuesday, Unmanned Systems Forces struck a site preparing Russian Shahed, Geran and Gerbera drones for launch at the temporarily occupied Donetsk airport, according to Unmanned Systems Forces commander Robert ‘Magyar’ Brovdi.
The operation was developed by reconnaissance units of the 414th Separate Brigade "Magyar's Birds" together with the newly created Deep Strike Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping.
Operators of the 1st Separate Unmanned Systems Center carried out the strike on the airport.
Ukrainian troops hit:
- a logistics hub for Geran and Shahed drones;
- a pre-flight preparation and maintenance point for Geran, Shahed, and Gerbera UAVs;
- a central warehouse for warheads of Geran and Shahed unmanned aerial systems;
- a storage site for Gerbera unmanned aerial systems;
- a Russian personnel and technical staff cluster preparing and servicing Geran, Shahed and Gerbera UAVs.
In early November, Ukrainian troops already attacked a storage, assembly, and launch base for Shahed strike drones at the temporarily occupied Donetsk airport.
Unmanned Systems Forces also reported hitting warehouses and a military equipment repair base in temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast territory and a deployment site for Black Sea Fleet high-speed landing craft in Crimea.
