Russia now using far more missiles in attacks on Ukraine, exhausting air defenses – Zelenskyy

Russian forces have begun using more missiles during mass attacks on Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told journalists.

“The numbers we have: we have not run out of air defense missiles. Russia is using more missiles during attacks. We have slightly more systems. Russia is using significantly more ballistic missiles. Unfortunately, they continue to receive components from partner countries and from the private sector. We need to reduce their ability to produce these missiles, but that is not happening yet,” Zelenskyy said.

The president stressed that Ukraine needs more missiles and more air defense systems. According to Zelenskyy, currently only PAC-3 missiles for American Patriot systems can effectively counter ballistic threats — “nothing else works.”

“As for ballistics — the key is still in the hands of the United States. That is why it is very important that supplies are timely, that PURL works, and that partners help us purchase the appropriate missiles through the unity of Europe and America,” he said.
