Russia launches Iskander missile and 97 drones at Ukraine overnight
Russian troops launched one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 97 strike drones at Ukraine overnight into Wednesday, according to Ukraine’s Air Force Command.
The Iskander was launched from occupied Crimea. Shahed drones, Gerbera and other UAVs were launched from Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, from Chauda in occupied Crimea and from occupied Donetsk.
Preliminary data as of 8:30 a.m. showed that air defense forces downed or suppressed 84 UAVs of Shahed, Gerbera and other types in the north, south and east of the country. No information was reported on the downing of the ballistic missile.
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, surface-to-air missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
There were confirmed hits by the ballistic missile and 13 strike drones at 11 locations, as well as falls of downed drones (debris) at one location.
