Combined Russian attack on Kryvyi Rih lasted almost 24 hours
Russian forces subjected the city of Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast to a nearly day-long combined attack, according to city defense council head Oleksandr Vilkul.
Over the past day Kryvyi Rih was attacked by more than 70 UAVs and one Iskander-M ballistic missile.
“The main thing, thank God — no fatalities. Infrastructure facilities were significantly damaged. Several fires broke out, but they were quickly extinguished,” Vilkul said.
On Thursday, Russian troops struck Kryvyi Rih, damaging a two-story apartment building, private homes, an administrative building, a children’s and youth sports school and vehicles.
According to police, 13 people were injured in the combined missile and drone attack on the city, including four children. Seven wounded remain in city hospitals: four adults in moderate condition and three children in satisfactory condition.
Vilkul reported that more than 90 miners were blocked underground in the mines. By morning, rescuers completed the operation, which lasted over 10 hours — all miners are now on the surface.
As a result of the attacks and damage to infrastructure facilities, more than 3,100 households remain without electricity, with restoration work ongoing.
The water utility system is partially operating on generators; water supply continues, though pressure may be reduced in some areas. Boiler houses were restarted overnight.
According to Vilkul, all services, public transport, hospitals and social institutions are operating in Kryvyi Rih.
Assistance headquarters are also functioning in the city for residents whose apartments and homes were damaged by missile and drone attacks. There, people can receive necessary building materials (OSB panels, film and others) and file applications for financial aid from the city.
