Two killed in Russian drone strike on Odesa Oblast overnight
Russian forces struck Odesa Oblast with drones overnight into Monday, killing a 20-year-old woman and a man about 45 years old, while injuring three others, regional governor Oleh Kiper and the State Emergency Service reported.
Industrial, energy and civilian infrastructure came under attack. The fatalities occurred at one site; the injured — aged 23 to 45 — are receiving medical care, two in serious condition, according to the regional authorities.
Damaged facilities included production and warehouse buildings, administrative offices, an auto parts store and multiple vehicles.
One drone hit an apartment in a multi-story building without causing fire or casualties.
The State Emergency Service noted that at one of the sites where the Russian drone crashed, two trucks were on fire and several other vehicles were damaged. At another address, a car dealership and trucks in a parking lot caught fire.
The fires that broke out were quickly extinguished by rescuers. Emergency and utility services are working on the scene to address the fallout.
Last night, Russian troops also carried out massive drone strikes on energy infrastructure facilities in Odesa Oblast. The strikes then caused fires in large areas. There were no casualties.
