Drones target Kirishi oil refinery in Russia's Leningrad Oblast
Ukrainian drones attacked Russia’s Leningrad Oblast for the second night in a row on Thursday, this time targeting the Kirishi oil refinery — one of the country’s largest — according to Leningrad Oblast Governor Alexander Drozdenko and the Telegram channel Astra.
Drozdenko said Russian air defenses allegedly destroyed 21 drones over the region, with the interception occurring above the Kirishi district, where damage was reported in the industrial zone.
No casualties were reported.
Astra, citing local residents, reported that the drones struck the Kirishinefteorgsintez (KINEF) refinery, which ranks among Russia’s top five oil processing plants and produces high-octane gasoline and various types of fuel.
According to him, Russian air defense allegedly destroyed 21 drones over the region. Drozdenko said that the repulse of the attack took place over the Kirisky district, where damage occurred in the industrial zone.
According to preliminary data, there are no casualties.
As Astra notes, citing local residents, drones attacked the Kirishinefteorgsintez (KINEF) oil refinery. This plant is one of the five largest Russian refineries. In particular, it is engaged in the production of high-octane gasoline and all types of fuel.
