Three dead, 15 injured after Russian Shahed drone hits high-rise in Odesa
Russian forces struck Odesa with a drone overnight into April 6, hitting a residential high-rise and killing three people, including a mother and her 2-year-old daughter, while injuring 15 others, the city’s military governor Serhiy Lysak reported.
Odesa Oblast Military Administration head Oleh Kiper said the victims include a 30-year-old woman and her 2-year-old daughter, as well as a 53-year-old woman.
The number of injured as of 8:51 a.m. rose to 15, with 13 hospitalized. Among the wounded are a pregnant woman, two children — a 7-month-old boy and a 2-year-old girl — and two teenagers aged 17 and 18.
The State Emergency Service said rescuers extinguished all fires despite repeated air raid alerts. Search and rescue operations continue, as people may still be trapped under the rubble.
In the Prymorskyi district, a residential high-rise complex and seven houses were damaged. Utility services are clearing debris and boarding up windows.
In the Kyivskyi district, one apartment building, five houses, a private preschool, a store and 27 cars were damaged.
