Russian drones hit Ukrainian railways in three regions
Russian forces attacked Ukrainian railway infrastructure in three regions early on Tuesday, damaging rolling stock but causing no casualties, Ukrainian Railways and Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba reported.
Around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Kharkiv Oblast, a Russian drone struck and destroyed a passenger car. No one was injured thanks to the monitoring center’s alert — the train carriage attendant moved to a mobile shelter in time, and the locomotive crew was also protected.
In Poltava Oblast, a drone hit between tracks near a locomotive. No casualties were reported, but a car was damaged and a fire broke out following the explosion.
Another strike targeted a station in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, where a drone damaged an electric locomotive on the tracks.
The train had been stopped in advance due to drone threats, and all personnel were in shelters. No one was injured.
